The inaugural New Cities Summit, a global forum organised by the Geneva-based New Cities Foundation on the future of urban areas, was attended by CADS director Marco Picardi.
Taking place on 14-16 May, the three-day event featured inspirational talks from global thought leaders from a range of disciplines – technology, infrastructure, architecture, energy, transport, national and local government, the media, academia, the non-profit sector, and beyond. The meeting presented a great opportunity to showcase CADS’s urban projects, and make new connections for future initiatives.
Whilst there, Marco was delighted to speak to the Mayor of Dakar, Senegal, Khalifa Ababacar Sall, who expressed interest in future collaboration with CADS’s DRC work following his time there as a UN Peacekeeper. Marco also met with the delegation from Abidjan, Ivory Coast who invited CADS to present their in the city work this autumn. Watch this space for more New Cities Summit-related cooperation!
